The last of the 364 games of the regular season in Belarusian Extraliga was played on the first spring day, March 1.

And it has only become clear very recently, which teams will face each other for the traditionally tough and extremely competitive play-off games.

 

The quarterfinal stage will start on Thursday with maximum of 5 games to be played. The better team in each pair will enjoy the home ice advantage for the first two games, then play away and if the number of victories is tied, return home for a deciding game.

 

The pairs of opponents for the quarterfinals are as follows:

(1) Yunost-Minsk vs. (8) Khimik-SKA

(2) Gomel vs. (7) Neman Grodno

(3) Metallurg Zhlobin vs. (6) Keramin-Minsk

(4) Khimvolokno Mogilev vs. (5) Vitebsk.

 

The Latvian teams that have participated in Belarus during the regular season will play the play-offs of their own, and Belarusian Shinnik Bobruisk and Brest didn’t reach the play-off zone.
